Call for Papers

Due to the concerned related to COVID-19, COCOON 2020 will become a fully online conference.

The 26th International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON 2020) will be held in Atlanta, GA, USA during August 29-31, 2020. Original research papers in the areas of algorithms, theory of computation, computational complexity, and combinatorics related to computing are solicited. In addition to theoretical results, we are particularly interested in submissions that report on experimental and applied research of general algorithmic interest. Special consideration will be given to research that is motivated by real-world problems. Experimental and applied papers are expected to show convincingly the usefulness and efficiency of the algorithms discussed in a practical setting. The venue of the conference will be Goergia State University, GA, USA.

All the papers will be published to the symposium in Springer-Verlag's Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Papers of high quality will be invited to special issues of Algorithmica, Theoretical Computer Science (TCS), and Journal of Combinatorial Optimization (JOCO), respectively.

The topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Algorithmic Game Theory
  • Approximation Algorithms and Online Algorithms
  • Automata, Languages, Logic, and Computability
  • Complexity Theory
  • Computational Learning Theory and Knowledge Discovery
  • Cryptography, Reliability and Security, and Database Theory
  • Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
  • Computational Algebra, Geometry, and Number Theory
  • Graph Drawing and Information Visualization
  • Graph Theory, Communication Networks, and Optimization
  • Parallel and Distributed Computing

Important Dates (midnight/EST)
  • Paper Submission Due (firm): May 13, 2020 (extended)
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 21, 2020 (postponed)
  • Camera-ready Version: July 12, 2020 (extended)
  • Conference Dates: August 29-31, 2020

Camera Ready Submission Instructions

The final paper and the signed copyright form are due on July 12, 2020. This is a firm deadline for the production of the proceedings. You should submit your paper using your EasyChair proceedings author role for COCOON 2020.

Please submit the files belonging to your camera-ready paper using your EasyChair author account. Follow the instructions after the login for uploading two files:
(a) either a zipped file containing all your LaTeX sources or a Word file in the RTF format, and
(b) the PDF version of your camera-ready paper

The page limit is 12 and is strict. Authors with over-page must pay the extra fee of USD $150 per page. A maximum of 3 over-pages is allowed, and the fee is charged via registration. Please follow strictly the author instructions of Springer-Verlag when preparing the final version: http://www.springer.com/cn/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines.

Our publisher has recently introduced an extra control loop: once data processing is finished, they will contact all corresponding authors and ask them to check their papers. We expect this to happen shortly before the printing of the proceedings. At that time your quick interaction with Springer-Verlag will be greatly appreciated.

Please upload a signed and completed copyright form to the easychair Proceedings (click Conference tab, and then, click proceedings manager (COCOON 2020) tab) along with your source file(s) and the pdf file. The Springer copyright forms can be found at here.

Please note that:
The Volume Editor(s) in the copyright should be DONGHYUN KIM, R.N. UMA.

The Title of the Book or Conference Name should be The 26th International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON '20).

It is sufficient for one of the authors to sign the copyright form. You can scan the form into PDF or any other standard image format.

All questions about submitting the final version should be sent to Dr. Yan Huang at yhuang24@kennesaw.edu.

Submission Instructions

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of original research on Computing and Combinatorics. Submissions must contain a scholarly exposition of the ideas, techniques, and a full description of the results achieved. A clear indication of the motivation and comparison with prior related work should be presented. Simultaneous submission to a journal or another conference with refereed proceedings is not allowed.

Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines. Papers must be formatted using the LNCS style file without altering margins or the font point. The maximum length of the paper (including references, but excluding the optional appendix) is 12 pages. Proofs omitted due to space constraints must be placed in an appendix to be read by the program committee members at their discretion. Papers that deviate from these guidelines risk being rejected without consideration of their merits. Submission is through the EasyChair conference system. The submission process requires registration to create an EasyChair account prior to submission.
